Even though it seems as though Summer has just arrived in NYC, Fall is fast approaching! The 90+ degrees hardly allows your brain to process slipping your feet into anything that doesn't allow your toes to be free, but we must be prepared to look fab as we step into one of the most beautiful seasons.
The Fall Shoe trends for 2009 are certified eye candy! Naturally boots are on the menu, but the shoe artisans are planning to kick ass with the "steppers" they've worked up for the Fall. Nothing off the wall or completely out of the ordinary, but definitely enough to get you a double take.
SUEDE X RUFFLES X PLATFORM
Suede, a Fall staple, has made its way onto the list of top trends in the shoe arena. Not surprising at all. Although suede requires lots of TLC, it will show you the same love when it makes your ensemble go OWWWWW! Miu Miu has created a subtle pair of chic pumps to achieve that exact reaction. A gorgeous eggplant color added to the flair of the small ruffle detail down the 5in. heel, and the visible stitch should definitely be paired with your sheath dress for day and your coolest jeans for the eve.
Miu Miu, Suede Platform Pump $570
Loeffler Randall combines the suede, grey and platform assuring that they incorporated all the key trends. Not a shabby showing at all.
Loeffler Randall, Esther Pump $425
BOOTIES X JEWEL TONES X STUDS
I think Booties have made such an impression on our feet, that we just can't bear to see them go! I mean, they are so versatile...just about any color, heel or adornment and you want to scoop them up, not to mention that they look fierce with just about anything! Stella thinks you'll look hot in her jewel-toned, patent leather booties and I just happen to think so too.
Stella McCartney, Drape Neck Bootie $675
Mr. Jacobs, I don't just heart you...I love you! These are WICKED! Supreme rocker/biker meets high-fashion Betty! The angle on these studded-heel boots are razor sharp and they keep giving more sass as they show off their backside. No need to wear a damn thing with these...ok, maybe some super shiny leggings from American Apparel, motorcycle leather jacket, some red lipstick and a scowl for those who think they can F*ck with you when you've got these on!!
Marc Jacobs, Studded Booties, $899
BUCKLES X STUDS
Buckles seem to be on every boot, shoe and even clothing this season. Not exactly sure what the fascination is, but I think it works for these See by Chloe "Doc Marten-esque" boots. The buckles, straps and studs feminize the otherwise "butch" boot, not to mention adding some glamour. Worn with some super skinny's may actually prove to be pretty sexy.
See by Chloe, Studded Leather Ankle Boots $495
O-T-K
My ABSOLUTE favorite trend is the Over-the-Knee boot, or the OTK. Given that The Shoenista is only about 5ft in her stocking feet, I probably won't be indulging in these. But if you leggy beauties love to show off those stems, then I suggest you invest in a pair. Don't be alarmed, no one will mistake you for Chesty LeReaux from the Hustler Club...these are all class, sans the ass!!!
Gucci, Division Platform OTK $2,950
So, get your shopping list ready and make sure you take advantage of these trends for the upcoming Fall season. You just can't go wrong!
XOXO...The Shoenista!

Shoe Rental...
Keeping up with the Jones' seems to be a way of life these days, even in these tough economic times. Everyone wants to look and feel like they are living up to what they see on television and in magazines. Yes, celebrities CAN afford all the new and hot goods, but do they really HAVE to? Probably not! Celebs are great marketing tools for companies and they obviously utilize them to their fullest capacity. This seasons fashion campaign, the sexy new liquor, the hottest new shoes...these are all sneaky ways companies get the average Joe to spend their do-re-mi!
Honestly, I see nothing wrong with wanting what you want, buy those $16oo Louboutins if you want...just make sure you can pay your rent, tuition and possibly buy some groceries! But, buying full price or simply buying may no longer even be necessary. Bag, Borrow or Steal made a huge impact on the bag snobs and bag-nistas and some new companies are going even further. Rent me a Handbag has clothing, bags and SHOES in stock!!! You can rent, buy and even lay-a-way! What? Insane! Yes, designer shoes that you can borrow or buy, weekly or monthly at ridiculous prices!
Pro: You're saving a sh*tload of money and can rent as long as you want or buy at a discounted price. You can become a member for even an even more discounted price. Borrow for a special event or night out or buy those fab shoes you always wanted!
Cons: Not always having your size in stock and although some goods are brand new some will be pre-worn. Limited sizes, and sometimes limited selections.
These 3 mamas below are just a sneak-peek in the wide selection that Rent-me-a-Handbag carries. Check them out, I seriously doubt that you'll be disappointed!

FABOLOUS x Reebok Classic Remix
Just a few more things for F-A-B-O to "Throw in the bag"! And this time he won't need to use his Black Amex. But, you and I will have to pay honey, unless of course Reebok would like to send a pair Shoey's way...wink, wink!
So anyshoe, yesterday it was announced that Fabulous would join the 5-city Classic Remix shoe launh/concert series that Reebok and Foot Locker are masterminding. A great promotional deal for the Brooklyn-bred MC who just dropped a new album, Loso's Way. No better way to do it than to perform new songs and classic hits while stepping out in some classic kicks! Wow, I think I just gave you a free bar FAB...I'll be expecting a check!
And these sneaks are Classics indeed! I got my first pair of 54-11's, a.k.a the Workout Hi's, in 9th grade from my very first boyfriend! All black and they looked awesome with my Levi's or so he smile used to tell me! As a member of the Flag Corp in H.S. we rounded out our adorable (and short) uniforms with the crisp, all white Classic Leathers. Aww, to be young and sneaker-clad again...sigh, those were the days! But no fret because Reebok is bringing them back and I'm sorry ladies, this remix is for the men only!
The 4 throwback styles below will be available in select doors, only where the concerts will be held. Click here to see if you're in one of the lucky spots. There are a few reasons to grab a pair of these...1. what's better than a pair of dope kicks for less than $80, 2. you can score a pair of FREE tickets to see FAB, and 3. because The Shoenista told you too!!!
Classic Leather, black/red $69
SL7010, blue suede $59
Tejara, white $69
Workout Hi , grey $74

Kitty Bradshaw Made Me Do It!
I really should be ashamed of myself for letting my updates fall to the wayside like this. All these lonely shoes and no one to talk about them, to them or to caress them...I really hope they forgive me! But Ms. Kitty Bradshaw, who threw an amazing soiree last night, chock full of tastemakers, beautiful people and personalities has once again inspired me to get my stilettos a-moving!!!! So, I'm sorry fellow Shoey's, not really a shoe coverage kinda day...but, look out for some hot steppers tomorrow!!!!
Ms. Kitty celebrated her fabulous sites one year anniversary in classic Ms. Bradshaw fashion at the Nightingale Lounge in NYC. Not to be pegged as some common blogger, this little kitten is a definite mover, shaker and contact maker and was hand-picked to rep The Gap and their 1969 Born to Fit campaign. Which is why The Shoenista is trying to figure out which heels to don with my new Gap skinny's, courtesy of the overstuffed swag bag (goods from Sprite Green, Carol's Daughter, Uptown Mag, SouthPole and more)! I was even more surprised that those skinny's fit my not-so-skinny physique...I may just have to visit The Gap on my own time!
As for the crowd, well, you had to be there to witness all the great energy working its way throughout the room, but I definitely have a few action shots of what the true get-down was all about! Models in their 1969 jeans having an awesome time, the bevy of beauties draped in their summer show-offs and the gents just smoothing it all out! Oh, and let's not forget the sweetest part of the night...the infamous Cake Man Raven red velvet cupcakes! There was no better place to be last evening. Check it out for yourself and the slideshow in the sidebar and for even more click here! Thanks for welcoming me back and thank you Ms. Kitty!
